Nora Razali
Senior manager, Petaling Jaya · Foundation Year
"I had been meaning to sort out our household finances for years but never found the right starting point. The Foundation Year gave me a framework I could actually apply — not just theory. The estate planning session was particularly valuable; it opened a conversation with my husband that we had been putting off."

Chong Kok Weng
Business owner, Kuala Lumpur · Six-Week Course
"As someone who has dealt with financial statements at work for twenty years, I thought I understood money reasonably well. The Six-Week Course showed me how little I had thought about personal finance specifically — the EPF questions, the retirement horizon, the estate side. Good material, taught at a pace I could follow without it feeling rushed."
February 2025
Siti Hajar Ibrahim
Civil servant, Shah Alam · Foundation Year
"I particularly valued that the instructors were willing to say when something was genuinely uncertain rather than giving false confidence. That honesty made the content more useful. I came away with a clearer sense of what I need to do and also a clearer sense of what I genuinely do not know — which felt like an honest outcome."
April 2025
Rajan Pillai
Engineer, Bangsar · Introductory Half-Day
"The Half-Day was exactly what I needed before deciding on the Foundation Year. It is a real session — not a preview designed to sell you the full programme. I signed up for the next Foundation Year cohort because I could see the quality of the instruction and felt confident the year would be worth my time."
January 2025
Lee Yee Ling
HR director, Damansara · Foundation Year
"The small group size made a real difference. In my cohort of eleven, we came from quite different backgrounds and the discussions reflected that. The instructor handled questions about property investment and EPF differently for each person's situation — that kind of responsiveness would not have been possible in a larger setting."
March 2025
Ahmad Zairi
Accountant, Ampang · Six-Week Course
"Being an accountant, I was a little sceptical that a personal finance course would cover ground I had not already seen. The session on the family financial conversation and the one on estate planning under the two legal frameworks in Malaysia were both areas I had genuinely not thought through properly. Well worth the time."

A closer look at how three participants arrived at Tunas Wealth and what changed for them over the course of their programme.
Fauziah Harun, 47
Nurse, Kuala Lumpur · Foundation Year 2024
The situation
Fauziah had worked in public healthcare for twenty years and had accumulated a meaningful EPF balance, but had no clear sense of what the figure meant for her retirement or how to think about drawing from it. She was aware that her parents were getting older and that she had not discussed financial matters with them at all.
The programme
She joined the Foundation Year cohort starting in January 2024. She found the EPF and tax session and the estate planning session the most directly useful. The family financial conversation session gave her a framework for approaching her parents that she had not had before.
After the year
Fauziah described having a clearer sense of where she stood and what questions she now knew to ask a financial planner. She had started a conversation with her mother about estate planning — something she had been reluctant to raise. She noted that the programme had not told her what to do, which she felt was appropriate.
"I came in thinking I needed someone to tell me what to do with my EPF. By the end I understood why that was not what I needed — I needed to understand the landscape well enough to make my own decisions."
Tan Li Shan, 52
Marketing consultant, Subang Jaya · Six-Week Course 2024
The situation
Li Shan runs a small marketing consultancy and had been managing the business's finances for years, but felt uncertain about her personal financial position — particularly around what she should be doing with the income the business was generating in the years before she expected to wind it down.
The programme
She chose the Six-Week Course because she felt she had some prior grounding and wanted a concentrated survey rather than a year-long commitment. She found the sessions on asset classes and on private retirement contributions particularly relevant to her situation as a self-employed professional.
After the course
Li Shan described the course as having given her the vocabulary to have a useful conversation with a licensed financial planner — something she had found difficult previously because she had not known what to ask. She started that process within two months of completing the course.
"Six weeks felt short but the material was substantive. I left with a clear list of things I needed to look into and a much better sense of what questions to ask."
